Okay, so my Shakeology arrived today! I was excited to make my first shake and experience the benefits of the wonder shake!!! My first impression...to begin with, many of the reviews that I read were correct, it does have a somewhat grainy texture, even though I blended it for a minute, let it rest a minute or so, and then blend again for a couple of minutes as suggested. But it's not intolerable. It also has a slightly odd smell. Again, this is not intolerable because it is slight. As for the taste, it's okay. Nothing to really brag about. On a scale of 1-5, so far I rate Shake O a 4. We shall continue to see.

Shakeology

So, I've always been hesitant of products that seem to claim to be the "be all end all". When I first heard of Shakeology by Beachbody, I felt the same way. My first thought was that it would never live up to all of the things it claims to do: get rid of cravings, improve digestion, improve memory and clarity are a few of the claims.

However, after realizing that so many of the people in my fitness groups and on BeachBody use Shakeology, I broke down and decided to try it. Both of my fitness coaches keep telling me that it will help me get rid of these last few issues that I'm having with fat in my tummy area and on my thighs.

It took a lot for me to break down and pay the $130, yes, tha's right, $130 for a bag of what Beachbody calls "the healthiest meal of the day." Call me crazy, but I'm determined to get rid of this fat!!! So with all of this being said, I will post often about my experiences with Shake O. We will soon see if it does live up to it's name.

Bikini Blaster 6: Booty Booty Booty

I have yet to wear a two piece bathing suit in all of my 39 years!!!! My plan was to get there this summer, however, I had a small set back when I started on my fitness journey. I had an injury that caused me to stop working out for a bit, so I've had to push my goal back. As I searched for my workouts to do at home, on the days that I don't go the workout at the Y, I found this booty workout by Cassey, the founder of Blogilates. From what I read, she is quite popular and I admire her hard work in starting a career doing what she loves, getting fit and sharing it with others. I wanted to post this workout so I can come back to it on a day that I need a booty workout. Thanks, Cassey!!

Fitness Journey

Okay, so I love to write and I always start new blogs, but never quite accomplish what I set out to accomplish at the beginning. So here I am again, attempting to get my thoughts and feelings into the blogosphere. This journey will be somewhat different however. It hit me a few months ago that I will be turning the big 40 this year. As I'm sure other women have done when they hit this milestone, I started to re-evaluate my life. After looking at my goals, accomplishments, and dreams, I came to the realization that I am no where near where I thought I would be at this point in my life. I haven't done anything spectacular, been anywhere amazing, nor did I feel accomplished. There's that word again: ACCOMPLISH...this word has seemed to take up room in my brain these last few months. As I ruminated over this word and my life, I came to the conclusion that it's time for a change. Time to rejuvinate, refresh, and reinvent myself (in a sense). So in a nutshell, that's what this blog will be about; my journey in reinventing myself...This is sure to be one heck of a ride!

Well, I to start this off, I will need to go back a few months. In March, I decided to join a fitness challenge on Facebook. The challenge - to complete 1000 squats in the month of March. This was a daunting task for me at first. I hadn't done anything that remotely resembled working out in well over 10 years!!! But I took on the challenge anyway. This was the beginning of my transformation!!! After a few days of crazy soreness, I legs were so sore I could barely walk, I pushed through and found that the squats weren't nearly as hard as I initially thought. So the 100 a day quickly became 200, 300 a day! I completed the challange with well over 6000 squats!!! My psyche was stoked, not to mention how toned my legs and gluteus maximus were!!! That was all I needed. We are now on our 4th challenge and I've become a new person! Who would've ever thought that I would be into fitness?

So here we are!!! This blog...my journey into becoming fit and healthy...Here we go!!!
